Now, years later, it was the desire of his wife, Mrs. Shirley de Dienes, to create something as an avenue to give back to the community of Marilyn admirers who have supported work like her husband’s for so many years. Just before passing away, Andre told Shirley that, “If you take care of Marilyn, she will take care of you.” Over the last 23 years Mrs. De Dienes has prompted numerous gallery exhibitions, edited several books on Andre’s photographic works, and licensed his photography to hundreds of other books, films and art magazines.
